Pippa Middleton's wedding: Where was Meghan Markle?
Despite reports that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were set to make their official debut at Pippa Middleton’s wedding, Meghan was noticeably absent at the small church ceremony.
Instead, Prince Harry arrived with his brother, Prince William.
However, the 35-year-old actress did turn up to the evening reception with her royal beau in tow. The couple had apparently decided not to be seen in public for fear of overshadowing Pippa’s big day.
It was believed that Prince Harry drove all the way back to London from the Berkshire wedding to pick up Meghan. But it turns out that the star of Suits was holed up in a private suite in Englefield House: the location of Pippa’s wedding breakfast.
The royal couple, who have been dating for almost a year, were given a lavish room in the country house.
After attending the church ceremony, Harry also turned up to the wedding breakfast alone. Meghan joined him for the evening reception held in the Middleton family home a few miles away.
Apparently, Pippa decreed that couples should not sit next to each other during the reception dinner, meaning that Meghan was left to face the crowd alone.
According to one source, she was dressed in a stunning maroon backless dress and stayed until the early hours of the morning.
Meghan and Harry then returned to Kensington Palace on Sunday before the actress flew back to Toronto for filming.
We’ll have to wait a little longer for this couple to make their public entrance.
