Peter Andre reveals true colours over Coleen Rooney on I’m A Celeb with 10-word statement
Peter Andre is someone that knows all too well about how it goes down in the I’m A Celebrity jungle. When he heard that wife of footballer Wayne Rooney, Coleen, will be entering the jungle, he spilled the beans on what her reasoning for going in could be. In his exclusive column with OK! Pete said in a 10-word statement saying, "I think the producers might be hoping for some gossip.”
"What’s exciting about the show is that every year there is always someone that is going to make headlines. I think it’s great if Coleen is going in," he said. Fresh from a second win in court against arch nemesis Rebekah Vardy - Coleen is thought to have signed up for this year’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here - rumoured to have secured the biggest deal in the show’s history, with a whopping fee of over £1.5m. Coleen, who won the high-profile ‘Wagatha Christie’ libel case in 2022, filed against her by Rebekah Vardy, follows in the footsteps of Rebekah, who entered the I’m A Celeb jungle in 2017 - and was the third campmate to be eliminated.
It’s an interesting move as, according to a source, ITV bosses have been ‘desperate’ to bag Coleen for the show, which is filmed Down Under, for a long time - and she’s always turned it down.

“They’ve wanted her in the jungle for over 20 years, but she’s never really been interested," they said. "When she was young she wasn’t confident enough to do something like that. Then, after she had kids, she couldn’t bear the thought of leaving them - and Wayne.”
When Pete was in the jungle, he certainly made headlines with his ex wife Katie Price. Reminiscing on his time in there this week, he said: “I also can’t believe it’s been 20 years since I was on I’m A Celeb . Time moves so fast and so much has changed.”
In 2022, Peter revealed he would love to see his children Junior and Princess go on the show in the future. "Junior and Princess have said they’re both up for doing I’m A Celebrity," Peter said in his column at the time. After meeting Junior and Princess’ mum, Katie Price, on the show back in 2004, the former couple welcomed Junior, now, 19, and Princess, now 17.
Pete continued: "Junior said, 'I think we have to do that! To represent! We came from the jungle, didn’t we?’ It’s true, they are the only offspring from that show and the only jungle babies so it might go full circle and they might go on there one day, which would be great."
