Nabela Noor Gives Inside Look at Renovations to Historic 1912 Georgian Revival Home — Including New Twist on Carriage House
Nabela Noor revealed that she and her family moved into the stunning home on Oct. 25
Nabela Noor and her family are officially starting a new chapter.
After moving into her new home in late October, the 33-year-old designer and author shared a behind-the-scenes look at the ongoing renovations to her new home on TikTok on Nov. 4. She revealed that their new home is a "historic 1912 Georgian Revival" in their hometown before giving detailed looks at the updates they've already made.
She started with the exterior of the home, including changing the shutters from black to a greyish color to "soften" the appearance, which she said is her ultimate "goal" for the vibe of the house. She continued with the tour by heading into the foyer and formal room, noting that she was "still settling in" when it came to decorating.
"I was able to take everything from our old living room and bring it here and repurpose it," she said, showcasing some of the details, including a stunning chandelier in the center of the room. Noor also shared that she brought hydrangeas from their old home and added them to the foyer to "honor [our old home] in a special way."
Noor then moved to the family room, revealing that the walls were originally a bright green, then a black color, before she ultimately painted them white to give her family a "blank canvas to see the wood and let it shine," though she noted she might end up doing wallpaper in the room.
In the kitchen, Noor revealed that the center island was painted a dark navy or black, but she decided to have it painted white to "soften the space." She added that she also made some changes to the fireplace in the kitchen to "protect" her family and privacy while still "maintaining the integrity of the fireplace."
She then moved to the historic carriage house, which is still under construction. Noor explained that the space was an "extension of the home."
"When I saw this space, I knew I wanted to take the torch of this renovation and restoration and take it to the next phase," she explained. "I love the history and the charm that's brimming in this space. To think that below me over a 100 years ago, there were horses in here and there was so much history and stories to tell. It brings me so much joy and the antique and vintage lover in me is just so excited to bring my interpretation and my vision to life."
The last room she showed was the primary bathroom in the house. Noor explained that there is currently no primary bathroom in the house and she planned to include large marble pieces in the shower and throughout the bathroom.
