Meghan Markle's NYC baby shower: A breakdown of the celebrity guest list
The Duchess of Sussex has been in New York City this week, catching up with some of her closest friends before her baby arrives in April.
While it’s believed that Meghan, 37, spent a couple of days in the city under the radar, details about her baby shower emerged on Tuesday.
A team of florists were pictured delivering bouquets of pink roses, and orange and yellow tulips, as well as an orange tree to Upper East Side hotel The Mark.
Also delivered was a large box from modern, chic and eco-friendly nursery furniture brand Babyletto.
It was previously thought that the shower took place at the hotel on Tuesday, but it’s since emerged that the party took place on Wednesday, reportedly in the Penthouse Suite.
The celebrations were reportedly been organised by Meghan’s friends Serena Williams, Amal Clooney and Jessica Mulroney.
Sources told BAZAAR.com that NYC baby shower is the first of two. Around 15 to 20 of the Duchess’ closest pals will join her for the get-together, while a smaller gathering has apparently been scheduled for friends in the UK after Meghan returns from her trip to Morocco this weekend.
So who attended Meghan’s New York baby shower?
Jessica Mulroney
Canadian fashion stylist Jessica Mulroney, 39, helped to organise the bash but it’s believed the pair met once Meghan relocated from Los Angeles to Toronto for her role on the legal drama ‘Suits’.
She and husband Ben Mulroney attended Meghan and Prince Harry’s wedding in May last year and their twin sons Brian and John and daughter Ivy were page boys and bridesmaid.
After the Duchess landed in New York, she and Jessica reportedly had macarons and tea at the famed French bakery Ladurée in SoHo on Saturday.
Amal Clooney
The barrister, 41, looked chic in a red jumpsuit and a black coat as she arrived for the party.
Amal and Meghan are said to have been introduced by a mutual friend and the human rights lawyer is said to have helped the actress settle into London life.
Last week her husband George Clooney spoke out in defence of friend Meghan, saying she has been “pursued and vilified,” and compared the treatment of the duchess to Princess Diana.
Serena Williams
The US tennis star is also said to have played a part in organising the baby shower.
Serena, 37, posted a photo on her Instagram account, showing her outfit for the festivities.
She attended a dinner with the duchess and Jessica Mulroney, at The Polo Bar, Ralph Lauren’s restaurant in Manhattan on Tuesday night.

Serena and Meghan are believed to have struck up a friendship at the Super Bowl in 2010.
The duchess has supported her friend at Wimbledon over the years, cheering her on at the Ladies’ Single Final with sister-in-law Kate last July.
Serena and her Reddit co-founder husband Alexis Ohania attended Meghan and Harry’s wedding on May 19 in Windsor. The tennis champ looked elegant in a pale pink number by Versace for her pal’s special day.
Abigail Spencer
Meghan’s former ‘Suits’ co-star Abigail Spencer, 37, headed out for lunch with the royal on Tuesday.
The Duchess, wearing a black Courrèges vintage coat with Hatch maternity jeans and carrying a Carolina Herrera bag, had a bite to eat with Abigail at Café Boulud within The Surrey Hotel.
According to Hello, the pair originally went to the Flora Bar inside the Met Breuer museum – but left shortly afterwards. It’s thought that the venue wasn’t private enough.
Misha Nonoo
Fashion designer Misha Nonoo was among the guests at the baby shower.
She was photographed arriving at The Mark hotel, carrying a bag from boutique Rani Arabella, which is renowned for its luxury accessories and home furnishings.
She is believed to be the person who introduced Meghan and Harry on a blind date and recently announced her own engagement to oil heir Mikey Hess.
Meghan has worn several of Nonoo’s designs, most famously the Husband Shirt she donned for her first public outing with Harry at the Invictus Games in Toronto in 2017.
Gayle King
The CBS This Morning anchor, 64, wrapped up against the winter chill in a purple coat and a tonal scarf, and carried a polka dot gift bag.
Gayle is also friends with talk show host Oprah Winfrey, who was also rumoured to be among the attendees.
Priyanka Chopra
The actress, who wed Nick Jonas in December, is believed to have flown in for Meghan’s baby shower, royal correspondent Omid Scobie told Good Morning America.
Priyanka met Meghan at an event hosted by Elle magazine, which celebrated women in TV. She also attended the royal wedding last year.

The Soho House director was also spotted with Meghan and friends after their dinner.
It’s believed the pair met when they both lived in Toronto and have shared getaways with fellow pal Misha Nonoo.
The duchess changed her outfit for the dinner, opting for her Victoria Beckham coat, jeans and Tamara Mellon boots.
She and Harry will fly to Morocco on Saturday for a three-day visit, at the request of the UK Government.
