Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been dating for over a year so it’s only obvious that the world starts mentally planning the next royal wedding.

Especially with the news that an engagement announcement is imminent.

As Harry is sixth in line to the throne, it’s likely that his big day won’t be anywhere near as dramatic as Prince William and Kate’s. (That probably means no day off for us, boo.)

Here’s a few unofficial wedding predictions that may or may not happen next year.

The venue

According to the Daily Express, the Archbishop of Canterbury gave his blessing for Harry and Meghan’s marriage. It was previously unclear whether divorcee Meghan would be allowed to marry in Westminster Abbey but apparently, she is.

However, it’s unlikely Harry will choose the same high-profile venue as his brother and grandmother, the Queen. Friends have said he’s looking for a more low-key private affair, leaving Norfolk’s Sandringham Estate, Windsor Castle’s St George’s Chapel or possible even London’s St Paul’s.

The date

Generally, royal weddings take place just months after an engagement announcement. And although Harry and Meghan haven’t technically announced their intention to marry, it seems likely that they’ll do so very soon.

That leaves a spring or early summer wedding as the likeliest date. In the past, royals haven’t been fussy which month they got married with the Queen getting hitched in November and the Duchess of Cambridge opting for April.

The dress

Funnily enough, Meghan has spoken about her ideal wedding dress after seeing her ‘Suits’ character, Rachel Zane, get married. “I personally prefer wedding dresses that are whimsical or subtly romantic. I will always be a fan of Elie Saab. J. Mendel is spectacular as well, especially for more structural designs,” she told Glamour.

The actress is also a big fan of London-based designer Erdem, wearing a printed gown of his to Harry’s friend’s wedding in Jamaica earlier this year. If she went with the Canadian designer, he’d probably need to tone down his signature prints to get the Queen’s approval.

There are also rumours that Harry is encouraging Meghan to choose his friend, Victoria Beckham, to design her dress.

The honeymoon

On Meghan’s now shuttered lifestyle blog, The Tig, she wrote about her love of Paris and places with sunny weather and incredible interiors. Basically anywhere that’s heaven for Instagram.

Even though she won’t be allowed to use the photo-sharing site anymore, perhaps Harry will take her to the capital of love for their honeymoon. Or one of his favourite places, Botswana, could be the location for a more adventurous getaway.

The guestlist

Along with all the major royals, there’s likely to be a lot of recognisable political figures. Harry struck up a close friendship with Barack and Michelle Obama when the former President was in power, leading to a likely invitation.

Meghan, too, has powerful friends, often spotted with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his wife Sophie.

As for celebrities, Meghan’s pals Priyanka Chopra and Serena Williams will likely be in attendance along with Harry’s British friends David and Victoria Beckham.
