Meghan Markle's first post-pregnancy outing is fast approaching
The Duchess of Sussex has been quietly enjoying the first throes of motherhood since welcoming baby Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor on May 6.
Meghan, 37, is currently on maternity leave from official public engagements but like many other royal mums, she’s likely to attend a few formal events in the meantime.
So when can we expect to see the new mum?
Royal commentator Omid Scobie tells Yahoo UK’s ‘The Royal Box’: “I hear that she [Meghan] wants to see out the entire summer before she really contemplates going back to work, but she will be out for the Queen’s birthday parade on June 8 - Trooping the Colour - so that’ll be her first official back to public engagement since the arrival of baby Archie.”
Last year was Meghan’s first attendance at Trooping the Colour, two months after her and Harry’s wedding.
She wore a blush pink Carolina Herrera outfit and a matching hat by Philip Treacy for the occasion.
Trooping the Colour is an annual parade which celebrates the Queen’s official birthday and where members of the Royal Family gather on the balcony of Buckingham Palace to watch the fly-past.
Similarly, Meghan’s sister-in-law the Duchess of Cambridge, 37, also attended events such as Trooping the Colour and Wimbledon after the birth of her youngest child Prince Louis in April 2018.
Kate took six months maternity leave, returning to royal duties in the October.
Meanwhile, Meghan’s husband Harry, 34, has been carrying out public engagements since the birth of his son.
His most recent being a visit to the Royal Hospital Chelsea on June 6, to review the Chelsea Pensioners at the annual Founder’s Day Parade.
