Megan McKenna praised as she issues candid postpartum update about first night at home with baby Landon


New mum Megan McKenna has opened up about her first night at home since welcoming her newborn son Landon into the world on Monday. The reality TV star, 32, candidly detailed a postpartum update for her 2.9 million Instagram fans on Friday, in which she admitted, "the swelling isn't great" and "my feet look like Shrek."

But she gushed about how "perfect" her new baby is as she shared how giving birth has bene the "most beautiful and most painful thing" she's ever experienced. The update comes just days after Megan welcomed her first child with her fiancé Oliver Burke and shared an intimate look at the birth.

The couple, who got engaged in June 2023, welcomed their baby boy, Landon, in Germany on Monday, 7 October, having moved for Oliver's footballer career just weeks before the birth. Taking to Instagram on Wednesday, 9 October, Megan revealed that she had given birth to a baby boy, who weighed a healthy 9.2 pounds. She confirmed his name as Landon Henry Burke and shared various clips from the birth and the first days that followed with their newborn son. But sharing a selection of heartwarming snaps on Friday, Megan looked radiant as she snuggled close to her newborn.

She wrote: "Landon had his first night at home… I can’t stop staring at him he’s just perfect. He’s latched onto my boobies so good, and I have to say, it’s the most beautiful and painful thing I’ve ever experienced at the same time. The first days latch wasn’t right and caused some nipple damage so it’s taking some time to get them back healthy. I’m fighting through the razor blades and it’s easing off by the day.

"He slept so much better last night, been sick a few times and loves his daddy so much he’s the best winder about." Megan finished her post by thanking everyone who had sent well wishes to her and Landon and confessed she has felt "overwhelmed by the words."

She shared that she's been "recovering slowly" but the whole experience has been amazing. Finishing the post, she added: "I’m recovering slowly, the swelling isn’t great and my feet look like Shrek. But it’s all part of it… sorry if I haven’t got back to you yet, I’m living on not a lot of sleep. I cant thank the hospital doctors and nurses enough for the treatment and care we got. It was amazing." In one snap, Megan cradled the tot to her chest while wrapped in a white dressing gown while in another, she held him on her lap.

The former X Factor Celebrity winner also posted a snap of her partner Oliver cradling his son and several of the baby's face. Fellow former TOWIE star commented: "Oh congratulations. Enjoy these precious moments xxx," while Anna Williamson shared: "Brava my gorgeous," and a friend added: "You’re doing amazing sweetie!" Earlier in the week, the former TOWIE star who kept fans updated throughout her pregnancy, made sure to document the moment her son was born and shared the intimate moment that he arrived via C-section.

In a clip posted to her page on Wednesday, Landon's umbilical cord could be seen as he was welcomed into the world, before he was swiftly passed to his mum for their first cuddle. Initially, Megan had her heart set on giving birth in the Lindo Wing at St Mary's Hospital in London, dreaming of mirroring Kate Middleton's iconic post-birth appearances. The Lindo Wing also holds historical significance as the birthplace of Prince William and Prince Harry. But she then revealed that they would be moving to Germany for Oliver's football career.
