M&S has released a new version of my favourite flattering £29.50 black dress

Marks & Spencer's autumn collection has totally won me over this year, due to its variety of versatile dresses, luxury-looking handbags, and stylish boots. Best of all, it's budget-friendly and there's plenty to shop for under £50, however, items are unsurprisingly selling out at record speed. For example, just the other week I stumbled across one of my best finds yet: a timeless and classic black jersey dress that was a bargain £29.50.

It's everything I could want from a staple midi dress to wear all year round, and in the the past three weeks, I've worn it six times (and washed it in between of course) and am feeling pretty pleased with my bargain £29.50 purchase - you can find my full review here.
However, due to its flattering fit and super reasonable price tag it quickly sold out. Luckily, this week M&S has just dropped a near identical version, the Textured Round Neck Midi Column Dress that comes in black and a very on-trend burgundy (which is the hue to have this season).
The newer version comes in two autumnal colours and is made from the same stretchy jersey fabric that will keep you comfortable and stylish all day.
The dress has all the same key features as the original, which really help to elevate this smart-casual wardrobe staple. It features a textured jersey material with added stretch for all-day comfort. Plus, it has fluted sleeves to add a touch of elegance, while the centre-front seam detail completes the look.
The only difference is that it doesn't have the diagonal ruched detail the original had going across the front, but that design may not be for everyone, and the plain style may suit some better.
Overall, it's a easy-to-wear wardrobe staples that is classic, contemporary and bound to get tons of wear this season and beyond.

I'd have to agree that the A-line shape is super flattering and skims over lumps and bumps and doesn't cling to areas I'm more conscious of, which can often happen with this material. I'm a size 12, and found the dress is true to size.
