Love Island's Maura Higgins and BBC star Richard Coles to enter I'm A Celebrity in huge shake-up
Former Love Island star Maura Higgins and Reverend Richard Coles have confirmed they're set to stir things up in the jungle, as they join the camp on Thursday. Speaking to the Mirror, Maura shared her whirlwind arrival in Australia straight from a raucous stint in Las Vegas.
Set to be only the second Love Island alum after Olivia Attwood to brave the ITV show, Maura is keen to represent former contestants well. She said: "I just don't want to let people down, because everyone's been DMing me, saying 'Oh my God, I hope you're doing the show.'" She added: "I don't want to back out of the trials and be the biggest wimp in the camp."
Speaking to the Mirror, she said her mother was shocked about her decision to join the show as she was more of an "indoor girl", who likes her hotels and "never slept outside". For the latest TV & Showbiz news, sign up to our newsletter.

And although she said she believed she had matured in the last five years, she admitted that she would not hold back if someone got on her nerves. "I do speak my mind," she said. "If someone patronised me, I get really irritated. Like, that's one thing that really drives me mad."
Meanwhile, Reverend Richard Coles has revealed his unique preparation for the jungle involved indulging in 5,000 calories a day while on a cruise and steering clear of 'triggering' nature documentaries. He said: "I would like to say that I've been lowering my calorie intake to prepare for that, but that's not worked out so far. I've been trying not to look at nature programs about the horrors of Australia."
However, the 62-year-old expressed concerns that his snoring would potentially make him an unpopular campmate. Despite this, he told the Mirror he was excited about his unique position in the show's history. "I don't think there are many precedents for this, although, vicars have been going into jungles for years and years and years as missionaries," he said.
It's uncertain when the pair will get into their jungle gear but the action in the jungle continues on ITV and ITVX at 9pm, nightly.
