Louise Redknapp set 'for her best year yet' following 'public heartache' after Jamie split
Pop singer, fashion icon, former WAG and devoted mum… as she prepares to mark her 50th birthday on November 4, Louise Redknapp is firmly in the driving seat. After enduring her share of heartbreak since she and ex, Jamie Redknapp, announced their shock split in 2017, following 19 years of marriage, Louise, according to our source, is finally ready to put herself first and mark this celebration as a new chapter.
"With her 50th birthday coming up, this is going to be the best year yet for Louise. She looks amazing, her career is flourishing and she’s never been more in love," the source said. "People forget Louise has been through a lot and had a massive career - it’s like she’s lived a lot of lives. Going through such a public heartbreak was tough, but she’s more confident now and is really blossoming."
However, rewinding just three years, former Liverpool midfielder Jamie, 50, remarried in October 2021 and welcomed son Raphael with his model wife Frida Andersson just a month later, which was, no doubt, another panful blow to Louise, who had been with Jamie for over 22 years.

At the time, Louise put her family first and insisted that her plan was to 'remain single' for the sake of her sons. The star previously said: "I’ve felt this as a mum... to say this in the most sort of respectful way, my boys’ lives changed dramatically [when she and Jamie split] and then changed again when Jamie got married and had a family. Their life changed and I felt like I needed to be their one staple.”
And, until last year, Louise had refused to open her heart again to romance - until she met Drew Michael. The Eternal singer announced late last year that she'd found love with the 40-year-old former military officer, and made their first public appearance together in September 2023, before going Instagram official in November. Since then, their relationship has since gone from strength to strength - with loved-up snaps together at Glastonbury Festival and, just last month, the duo enjoyed a romantic trip to the stunning Greek island of Kefalonia where they posed for selfies while on a boat trip.
Now a source has claimed that Louise is considering marriage again, despite previously ruling it out. "Marriage could definitely be on the cards again for Louise - her new relationship is so different to any other she’s been in," the source continued. "Drew is very supportive of everything she does. We could be hearing wedding bells very soon."
Since hitting it off with Drew, Louise became embroiled in a row with her former Eternal bandmates Easther and Vernie Bennett, during which time she is said to have leant on her new partner for support. The former bandmates fell out after Easther and Vernie refused to play at Mighty Hoopla because of its support for the trans community; this then led to Louise and Kéllé Bryan walking away from the reunion.
In fact, during an appearance on Loose Women alongside her fellow band member Kelle Bryan, Louise not only touched on the waging war with her former friends, but paid due to Drew and the happiness he brings her. The former Strictly Come Dancing contestant said: “He’s great and lovely. It’s just nice, it’s been a really long time for me. I’ve been on my own for a long time. So, it’s lovely to have met somebody that makes me so happy.”
After almost years of following ex-husband Jamie's glittering football career, which included playing for England and captaining Liverpool and Spurs, to working as a TV and newspaper football pundit and captain on A League of Their Own, Louise is set to celebrate her fifth decade around the sun by embracing her rejuvenated career and sources say that's her priority, along with her beloved boys.
The source said: "She loves having her fashion range with Peacocks, and is just having fun. When she was married to a footballer, her life revolved around going to games and his career. At times, hers was forced to take a back seat but now she is a point where she can put herself first."
Just recently, Louise also shared her immense pride after her youngest son Beau, 16, signed for Brentford FC, following in his dad's footsteps. "Beyond proud of my Beau Beau @beau_redknapp the Hard work pays off! " Louise wrote on Instagram. "Congratulations on signing to @brentfordfc I love you so much xxx."
Her other son, Charley moved over the pond to America when he turned 20 years old and Louise shared her pride on Instagram at the time by saying: "I'm beyond proud of you Chaz and everything you are achieving. My partner in crime from day one." She added: "I'm so happy to see you following your dreams, getting out there and experiencing new things."
Honouring her son's bold decision to uproot to the University of Arizona to study sport, Louise said: "It took a lot of courage to move over to America but you are smashing it and I miss you every day you are away and always look forward to the summer holidays when you are home."
With her sons pursuing their dreams and a supportive man by her side, it sounds like the world is Louise's oyster...
