Liam Payne's ex-partner 'stayed in hotel the week he died', claims hotel manager

Further details surrounding Liam Payne's tragic death have emerged after the One Direction star died at the age of 31. The singer sadly passed away at CasaSur Palermo Hotel in Buenos Aires on 16 October, leaving fans across the globe devastated. New information about Liam's death have now been revealed, including the hotel's reaction to his distressing behaviour and that one of his ex-girlfriends was allegedly staying at the hotel.

In an interview with the Argentinian media, hotel manager Esteban Grassi has now confirmed that Liam's ex-partner was also present at the hotel during the same period. He disclosed: "He was seen alone but his ex-partner was around." Esteban, who is one of three hotel employees being questioned by police in connection with Liam's death, declined to provide additional details about which of Liam's ex-partners had been staying in the room above him.

During an appearance on the Telenoche show on El Trece, when probed about whether she had her own room, he affirmed: "Yes," and added for clarity: "One floor above, yes," reports the Daily Star. Since the news emerged, fans on social media had speculated that the mysterious partner may have been Liam's former fiancée, Texan author Maya Henry. But sources close to the late star have since dismissed this. Speaking to the Mirror, a source said: "Maya Henry has never been to Argentina, and she was not back with Liam Payne."

Liam had been in Argentina with his girlfriend Kate Cassidy, however she decided to return to the US two days before Liam's death. In a TikTok video, the actress explained that while she loved South America, she "was ready to go back" home.

Liam's girlfriend, Kate Cassidy had been holidaying in the Latin American country with him but left just two days before his devastating death, stating she wanted to return home to Florida. Addressing her decision to leave, Kate told her online followers: "I was ready to go back... Honestly, I love South America, but I hate being in one place for too long. We were supposed to stay for five days, but it turned into two weeks and I needed to get home."

Following the news of his death, Liam's relatives issued an emotional statement and asked for their privacy. "We are heartbroken. Liam will forever live in our hearts and we'll remember him for his kind, funny and brave soul. We are supporting each other the best we can as a family and ask for privacy and space at this awful time," they shared in a statement.
