Lana Del Rey left her fans stunned recently when she married 49-year-old swamp tour guide Jeremy Dufrene after a whirlwind romance. The Summertime Sadness singer was rumoured to have tied the knot late last month and it's now been reported that the official paperwork was signed and sealed this week.

While Lana has stayed quiet about the development until now, her new husband's ex fiancée of 12 years spoke earlier of her shock at learning of the wedding, but said Jeremy was a "a very protective, hardworking, manly man". Now the global singing sensation has issued a two-word statement on married life, saying "we're happy", when she was asked about it on the red carpet this week.

Lana, who has enchanted fans with her dreamy, romantic tunes earning her 11 Grammy nods, opened up about her personal joy at the InStyle Imagemaker Awards. When quizzed about how she's finding married life, the 39-year-old singer couldn't help but share: "It’s good. We’re happy."

The couple celebrated their love in Des Allemands, Louisiana, where Dufrene is known as Captain at Airboat Tours by Arthur.

When the wedding was initially rumoured to have taken place, pictures surfaced showing Lana and Jeremy strolling hand-in-hand, with Lana donning a white dress and Jeremy in a dark suit. The photos revealed tents set up with chairs and tables, along with guests dressed to the nines, clearly indicating that a wedding had taken place. The ceremony occurred three days after the couple reportedly secured their official marriage license in Louisiana.

Lana first captured hearts with her self-titled debut in 2010, but it was her 2012 album Born To Die, featuring hits like Video Games and Summertime Sadness, that skyrocketed her to fame. She's continued to charm the music world with her releases, including her latest 2023 album Did You Know That There’s A Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd.

Despite a little hiccup at Reading and Leeds Festival, where her set was cut short due to a production error – for which the festival apologised "unreservedly" – Lana remains a beloved figure in the music scene.

Last summer, the singer experienced a power cut during her headline performance at Glastonbury's Other Stage due to starting her set 30 minutes late. She ended up leading fans in an unplugged version of her hit song Video Games after her microphone was switched off.
