Krispy Kreme Is Giving Away Free Doughnuts This Week
Another reason to get out and vote.
Folks say that voting is putting democracy into action, and that should be its own reward. That’s all well and good, but some of us also appreciate treats to help motivate us. Luckily, Krispy Kreme has those types of voters in mind with its new “Doughmocracy” promotion that is encouraging us to hit the polls this election cycle.
“Participating in our democracy should be celebrated! So, we’re happy to sweeten everyone’s day with free Original Glazed doughnuts on Election Day,” said Dave Skena, global chief brand officer for Krispy Kreme.
How To Get Free Doughnuts From Krispy Kreme on Election Day
Okay, we're in. Now, how do we collect? All you have to do is show up at a participating Krispy Kreme location and request your doughnut on Tuesday, Nov. 5, no purchase necessary. You don’t even need your “I Voted” sticker as proof. In fact, Krispy Kreme is handing out “I Voted” stickers at select stores while supplies last. That means that if you voted early, you don’t have to hoard your sticker until the big day. You’ll receive a fresh, free Original Glazed for your troubles.
This follows a series of great giveaways from Krispy Kreme—the brand doesn’t need much of an excuse to celebrate with free doughnuts. Back in March, the bakers behind the airy sweets gave away two free Original Glazed doughnuts per person to celebrate Super Tuesday, or Super Twosday as they called it, in another voting promo.
And just days ago, anyone wearing a costume on Oct. 31 got an extra Halloween treat. With no purchase necessary, Krispy Kreme gave them a doughnut to help entice them into the store to try the “Ghostbusters” x Krispy Kreme collaboration featuring the Ghostbusters Cookies N’ Creme Doughnut, Slimer Doughnut, Ecto-Sprinkled Doughnut, and Chocolate Iced with Halloween Sprinkles.
With this latest giveaway, all that Krispy Kreme asks in return is that you take to the voting booth (and maybe the photo booth while you're at it by tagging #KrispyKreme in your doughy selfies on social media).
