Jon Richardson gives rare update on love life after ex Lucy Beaumont spotted with new man
Jon Richardson gave a rare insight into his love life this weekend with a comment confirming his relationship status, following his split from wife Lucy Beaumont in April. The couple were married for nine years and share eight year old daughter Elsie, leaving fans shocked with the separation.
Preforming at the London Palladium on Sunday (17 November) for a special Absolute Radio charity comedy show, Jon joined fellow comedians such as Judi Love and Josh Widdicombe. With Loose Women star Judi detailing the challenges of dating when over 40 in her routine, Jon then came on stage and said: "It makes me think I'm so happy being single," according to The Sun.
Once again referencing his split later in the show, Jon looked on the bright side as he praised being able to use the toilet in a hotel room without having to simultaneously run the tap, due to having the room to himself as a single man.

Jon's rare insight comes after his ex, Lucy, was spotted leaving a theatre with a man - with many convinced that it is her new suitor. Announcing their split earlier this year, the couple - who have starred together in Meet The Richardsons, in which they play “exaggerated versions of themselves”, since 2020 - described the decision as "difficult", but made "jointly and amicably".
They wrote in a statement: "As our only priority is managing this difficult transition for our daughter, we would ask that our privacy is respected at this sensitive time to protect her well-being. We will be making no further comment. Jon Richardson and Lucy Beaumont."
Lucy and Jon have remained tight-lipped on the reason for their split, something Lucy recently told OK! is a conscious decision. She said: "People might think I should talk about it [the break up] because we were so public and everyone knew us as a couple, but I won't, and not because there's any animosity.
"We both agreed that while it might be weird for other people not hearing anything about it, we wouldn't talk about anything to do with the marriage or each other."
However, Lucy has admitted to feeling some level of 'guilt' for previously sharing insight into their personal lives. She told The Sunday Times: “I don't regret anything. But equally, [over] this next stage I am very much keeping my personal life personal.
"I sometimes feel guilty that I talked about my daughter and my marriage, and my mum and my dad. I think partly I was feeling grateful, grateful that I was getting the work, grateful that I was being interviewed, and feeling like I had to sacrifice and share everything."
