Johannes Radebe transforms into Beyonce in brand new special week on Strictly
Strictly Come Dancing 2024 has already been a whirlwind of a series.
Two celebrities have already been eliminated from the dance floor - Tom Dean was the first, Toyah Willcox the second - while Nick Knowles had to miss last weekend's show due to a shoulder injury, before falling and injuring his knee during rehearsals, and it's still unsure when (or even if) he'll return to the show.
Hot on the heels of the first special week, Movie week, last weekend, Strictly Come Dancing has announced a brand new special week for this series. Alongside the other upcoming special weeks - Blackpool, Musicals and Halloween - this year will see the debut of Icons week.
Icons week, which will be part of this series and beyond, will take place on Saturday 2 November. It will see the remaining couples take to the Ballroom floor in honour of musical icons and legends from across the decades, paying tribute to some of the most influential music industry greats.
The news was exclusively revealed on Strictly - It Takes Two this evening on BBC Two and iPlayer. The songs the couples will dance to are yet to be revealed, but rest assured we can look forward to seeing them waltzing, jiving and cha-cha-ing to tunes from their favourite music heroes. Some will even emulate the icon themselves, so get ready for some jaw-dropping transformations.
In the results show on Sunday 3rd November, the professional dancers will perform their weekly pro's dance, this time set to a dazzling Beyoncé medley. Strictly pro Johannes Radebe will step into the spotlight as the protagonist of the routine, and he'll channel his inner Sasha Fierce as he 'becomes' Beyoncé for the routine. There will be bejewelled cowboy hats, there will be power ballad moves - and there will be sparkling sass.
