Jennifer Lopez steps out in romantic lace-up ballet flats
On a recent shopping trip in LA, Jennifer Lopez styled a pair of this year's most popular shoes – but with an added romantic twist.
The star's monochromatic, all-black outfit consisted of relaxed wardrobe staples – from a lightweight cashmere Dior sweater featuring a pussy-bow collar, to a low-rise pair of tapered cigarette trousers. The real star of the show, however, was her choice in footwear.
The singer opted for black satin ballet flats, also from Dior, that included delicate details like crisscrossing lace-up ankle straps and a tiny pearl adorning the squared-off toe box. Lopez rounded out her look with yet more black accessories, including angular thick-framed sunglasses and a rectangular quilted Chanel handbag (in a departure from her usual penchant for a Birkin).
Balletcore isn't the only popular trend that Lopez has been flirting with of late. The mogul is one of the legion of celebrities championing the boho-chic resurgence, a trend that also seems to have found favour in the wardrobes of Dakota Johnson, Katie Holmes, and Jodie Turner-Smith. In particular, Lopez was recently seen out in looks that boasted typical boho motifs, including a fringe suede crossbody bag, a patchwork denim maxi skirt, an embroidered minidress, and a sheer ruffled Chloé gown.
Lopez’s outing in Los Angeles follows her recent Interview cover story, in which she opened up about navigating life amidst her divorce from Ben Affleck.
“Being in a relationship doesn’t define me,” she told Nikki Glaser. “I can’t be looking for happiness in other people. I have to have happiness within myself. I used to say I’m a happy person, but was still looking for something for somebody else to fill, and it’s just like, ‘No, I’m actually good.’”
