It has been a tough week for JLS member JB Gill and his professional dance partner Amy Dowden, who hails from Caerphilly, after they found themselves in the dance-off on Strictly Come Dancing on Sunday, October 20. While they were saved by the judges, Anton Du Beke, Motsi Mabuse, Craig Revel Horwood and Shirley Ballas, JB's wife, Chloe, has apologised.

Chloe missed the live show to watch their son, Ace, in a football tournament in Paris. This meant she wasn't there when JB and Amy had to face the dreaded dance-off. For the latest TV & Showbiz news, sign up to our newsletter.

In a lengthy message on Instagram, she said: "I was on edge ALL week because I didn't want to make the decision whether to go to Paris and watch Ace or stay home to watch @jbgill at Strictly. Last minute, I chose to go to Paris to watch Ace but in the back of my mind I was leaving @jbgill and felt like I wasn't supporting him."

She added: "I felt awful, I thought I'd let him down... And then what happened course he was in the dance off!... I was gutted. I wasn't there for him and wished I could have torn myself in two... I'm so sorry I couldn't be there."

Amy commented several pink love hearts on the post. She has made her return to the Strictly Come Dancing dancefloor after she missed the 2023 series when she was diagnosed with breast cancer.

Recently talking on The One Show, she said she felt there was “a life after cancer” following her return to the show. Amy was shown a video of four young people who had received support from Children In Need ahead of the appeal show next month, including a teenager called Grace who discussed her cancer diagnosis of neuroblastoma.

Responding to the clip, Amy said: “She’s so inspiring and I guess I feel now, after being back on Strictly, how she is now – like there is a life after cancer. And my motto is now ‘Go grab life’.”
