New ITV crime series that the Queen can't get enough of
Everybody likes to escape from reality from time to time, whether that's with a hobby like running or perhaps reading a crime novel or two, and the Queen is no exception. There is one series of books in particular that Queen Camilla is said to love, and it has been adapted in to an ITV crime drama.
The ITV show Grace is based on a series of critically acclaimed crime novels by Peter James. The series recently saw its fifth season grace (sorry) our screens with four new episodes.
The episodes were based on four of Peter's books: Dead If You Don't, Dead At First Sight, Need You Dead and Find Them Dead, and each were 120 minutes long. For the latest TV and showbiz gossip sign up to our newsletter.

The author has sold over 21 million copies of his Grace novels and in 38 different languages, but he never expected the series to become this big. He said: "When the first episode of Grace aired in 2021, it was a dream come true. It is both heartening and astounding to me that we're already at series five!"
Although, not only did Peter not expect the success of the series, but he also did not realise that he would have a rather royal fan base too. Queen Camilla expressed to the author when they met, that she was quite a big fan of his novels.
The author however, is disappointed that he wasn't able to share this news with his mother, who he described as a "fierce royalist".
He said: "She made Queen Elizabeth’s gloves for all of her life, and I guess my one regret is that my mum died before she got to see that Queen Camilla was a fan of my books."
He described the knowledge that the Queen enjoys his books as being "surreal" and "wonderful".
Peter explained: "She’s really lovely, I’ve met her many times and she always asks me how the next book is coming along, as well as writing to me after each new book."
He also shared that he believed she would be a big fan of the TV series too, although he isn't too sure whether King Charles shares the same interest.
The author said: "I love to think that they watch the series. I don’t think the King reads a lot of fiction, but the Queen does and she definitely watches telly, so I’m sure she watches Grace, I’d be astonished if she didn’t."
The Queen may be disappointed to find out that fifth season of the much loved crime drama has gone a bit off course from the book series. Leading actor John Simm has said that in the new series they, "started to veer away from the books".
All four episodes of season five of Grace are now available to watch on ITV X.
