A woman got engaged to a stranger from TikTok despite living 4,000 miles apart – and says doubters who say he’s just with her "for the green card” are wrong. Brit Lucy Downes, 29, had just come out of a nine year relationship when she started posting on TikTok for fun. She noticed Glenny Phillip, 34, from Saint Kitts, Caribbean, would pop up on her lives and the pair hit it off when they started chatting on WhatsApp. The smitten couple had to wait a year before they could meet in person because they had to save money and wait for Lucy's house sale to complete. Glenny stayed in the UK for six months before Lucy travelled back with him to his home for two weeks, where he got down on one knee.
