I'm A Celeb's Sam Thompson reveals 'it's tough' as he opens up on missing important moment Down Under
Reigning King of the jungle Sam Thompson has headed off back to Australia for a second year in a row, but this time, to front I'm A Celebrity's relaunched spin-off show. Despite the amazing opportunity for the Made in Chelsea star, he’s opened up about the ‘tough’ sides to stardom.
Taking to Instagram, Sam posted an adorable carousel of pics and vids with his nephew Leo to celebrate his third birthday. However, due to the timings of I’m A Celeb filming, the 32-year-old will once again miss his nephew’s big day. On the first pic of the adorable photo dump, Sam could be seen beaming for the cameras with his nephew sat on his lap.
Further along, he shared videos of the gang dressed up as Shrek characters, as he posed as donkey whilst Leo wore an adorable dragon suit. Sam’s sister, and Leo’s mother Louise Thompson could be seen in some family pictures along with Zara McDermott and her fiancé Ryan Libbey.

Alongside the pics, Sam wrote in the caption: “Happy birthday to the most beautiful boy in the whole world. I’ve missed Leo’s birthday this year, as I missed last year aswell because I’ve always been away.
“Seeing Leo with his presents and not being there while the whole family is, is tough but there’s so many more years to come. He hasn’t even got to the Harry Potter phase yet!!” the star, known for his love of Harry Potter, continued. “That’s when I really come into my own,” he added, alongside a laughing emoji.
“Love you Leo bear, he’s everything that’s good in this world, and Louise and Ryan you’re just the best parents and I love you all,” Sam emotionally concluded.
Fans took to the comments to wish Leo well on his big day as one penned: “Such cute photos and videos. Leo knows how loved he is by all of you. Adorable!” A second gushed: “Aww the cutest most understated family.”
It comes after Louise shared her joy at being able to celebrate her son's third birthday after recovering from a septic shock after undergoing emergency surgery.
Ryan tearfully revealed the news on the couple's podcast He Said, She Said on Tuesday: "Sadly Louise is not here this week. She had to go back into hospital almost two weeks ago for another emergency operation in the same tummy area that she's been recovering from since earlier this year with her stoma surgery.”
Louise recently revealed her illness had put a halt in her son’s birthday plans, but expressed her gratitude for being able to celebrate the day with him. She wrote: "It's my son's 3rd birthday. We were meant to be in Somerset for some big fancy family do/ staycation with VIP zoo experiences, catered meals, entertainment, glamping lodges, etc etc. the lot. We're not and it's a bit of a shame, but a teeny tiny loss in the grand scheme of things."
