I'm A Celeb Dean McCullough's unrecognisable Britain's Got Talent appearance with 'cheeky routine'

One I'm a Celebrity star once made a now near unrecognisable appearance on ITV's flagship talent show with a 'cheeky routine'.

BBC Radio 1 presenter Dean McCullough is preparing for his 'waking nightmare' of spending up to three weeks in the Australian jungle alongside other famous faces but he once featured on another of ITV's hit shows.

Way back in 2013, he was a part of all-male dancing group called The Glambassadors, who wowed judges with their act that left judge David Walliams labelling them 'camper than Christmas.'

Dean looks almost unrecognisable in footage from nearly a decade ago, which shows his troupe dance and lip-sync along to some popular hits including Candyman by Christina Aguilera.

The Glambassadors had a short turnaround to prepare for their BGT auditions, as Dean revealed at the time that two of their original members left the group to pursue careers abroad.

At the time, he said: “We formed because we all know each other through working in dance. But a week before the auditions we lost two guys who got jobs in LA. So we found two other friends and we had one rehearsal before we got to the stage.

“I choreographed the dance so I was under pressure to get it sorted. We were winging it but I think because of the pressure we were under it all came together and now I have made friends for life. We have all been on this journey together, none of us have ever done anything like this before.”

“We did a routine for Alesha Dixon’s song The Boy Does Nothing and David Walliams loved us because we were camper than Christmas."

The Glambassadors made it through to the semi-final stage of their series of the show but missed out on the final, despite many viewers enjoying their routine which was described as cheeky.

They were beaten by eventual overall winners Attraction, a shadow theatre group from Hungary. Dean now says he hopes to being some of that Glambassador energy to his experience in camp.

He said: "I do hope to bring lots of good vibes. Every Camp needs someone to bring everyone together when the mood is low.

"I want to be the person who makes sure everyone is ok, or the person who makes up a dance routine."

I'm A Celebrity begins Sunday night at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
