Is this the M&S dress of the season? Holly Willoughby thinks so

She rarely puts a foot wrong and in this dream of a dress Holly Willoughby proves, yet again, that we want what she's got.
In this case, it's the prettiest, softest yellow, pure cotton summer midaxi, for just £45 from Marks & Spencer, which she posted on on her Instagram account, commenting: "Did someone say long weekend? I already know what I'm wearing for it."
And thanks to Ms Willoughby, so do we.
It has even helped us get over our fear of wearing yellow. Because, as Holly proves, you can rock it if you're fair-skinned like her, and darker complexions will also look stunning in this shade. (Though it is available in black, too, if you're seriously yellow-averse).

The flattering wrap-effect at the front isn't too low cut, and, handily, there's a little popper in the neckline that you can do up for extra security. (Thanks M&S, it's little details like that which win our loyalty.)
And while the softly elasticated waist gives a flattering silhouette, it won't dig in uncomfortably if you decide to indulge this weekend.
The short, puffed sleeves with gathered cuffs add yet more feminine appeal to the design, while the stunning, Broderie Anglaise details and the tiered, figure-skimming skirt mean it looks way more expensive than it is.
Another sign of how high quality this affordable dress is? It's fully lined, so there's no need to worry about buying a slip to wear underneath, or rooting through your pants drawer trying to find that pair of nude knickers you're sure you had somewhere.
As M&S always tries to be as size-inclusive as possible, the dress is available in sizes 6-24, in short, regular or long.
But there's another detail we love from Holly's Instagram post. Yep, it's those adorable white mules she's holding.
The good news is that at £25, they're another affordable classic summer staple. The elegant knot detail at the front makes them look expensive and dressy – something that's so hard to get with flats.
Plus they have antibacterial padding for freshness and comfort, come in sizes 3-8 and are available in pink and black, too.
One happy M&S shopper commented "these look far more expensive than £25. Comfortable and stylish", while another admitted to owning more than one pair: "The perfect summer shoes. Shape is bang on trend and fab colours. I’ve got the black and pink".
That's a versatile look sorted for a total of £70. Not bad for a stunning dress that can work as well for a wedding as it can for a BBQ and cute mules that can be worn with everything from dresses, jeans, chinos, skirts – even around the pool on holiday.
