A bride is sharing how "everything that could go wrong did" at her "carefully planned" wedding.

In a lengthy post on Reddit's "Wedding Planning" forum — which she titled "We make plans and God laughs" — the bride recapped her big day, detailing a series of snafus that nearly spoiled the event. She wrote that it all "started when the DJ informed us at 9pm the night before the wedding that he had not yet been cleared to return to work so he wouldn’t be there, but would send his sister and son instead."

The bride explained that she had known the DJ had been in a car accident a month prior but he had assured her he would be "fine" to do her wedding. As it turned out, the DJ had to send his two family members in his place — and according to the bride, they "were not well-prepared to do our wedding."

The morning of the wedding, the bride found out that the park where she planned to do a first look with the groom was hosting a pumpkin festival expected to attract "hundreds, if not thousands of families." The couple was forced to pivot and instead do their first look at their restaurant venue.

Then, the bride's hairstylist got stuck in traffic and arrived nearly an hour late, delaying her getting-ready process. And the problems only continued from there.

When the newlyweds checked in on the reception setup ahead of their ceremony, they were dismayed when they saw the cake and cupcake tower they had ordered. "It was hideous. Absolutely hideous," the bride recalled. "Nothing to be done. I had to force myself not to look at it."

As the ceremony began, the fill-in DJs could not figure out how to work the equipment and get the music to play. "I was not happy," the bride wrote. "The banquet manager at the restaurant saved the day with an extension cord."

The DJs continued to have even more issues. "Ceremony audio sucked because of the DJ’s sh---- equipment. Midway [through], I quietly suggested to our friend and officiant that she turn off the microphone (that kept cutting in and out, producing static, etc.), which she did," the bride recalled.

Capping off the list of snafus, the wedding cake "was not only hideous but tasted terrible," despite being "ordered from a woman who has great reviews and who has been on Food Network’s Cake Wars multiple times."

In the face of everything that went wrong, however, the bride took it all in stride and "still had a fabulous wedding." She said she decided to share her story on Reddit to show other brides and grooms "that even though we carefully planned and communicated with all of our vendors thoroughly (including the week of the wedding), things can and will go wrong, through no fault of your own."

The bride concluded her post with some wise advice: "It’s important to keep your focus on what is most important, which for me is marrying the love of my life in the presence of closest family and friends, and celebrating with great food, great drinks and great music."

In the comments, many people expressed their appreciation for the post and praised the bride's positive attitude about her wedding experience.

"Beautiful story and perspective!!! I love that you are able to embrace all the details of your wedding as a part of a story that you love," one person wrote. "Sounds like you guys took every obstacle and quickly turned into a positive! I hope you two choose to handle your marriage in the same way."

Another person added: "Good food and fun dancing will be the takeaways for all your guests It sounds like a great wedding with some of the hiccups that come with event planning. Good job in pivoting!"
