Girls Aloud's Kimberley Walsh shares touching tribute to Sarah Harding on her birthday
Girls Aloud star Kimberley Walsh has shared some moving words to bandmate Sarah Harding on what would have been her 42nd birthday. Kimberley posted a snap of herself and Sarah doing a Charlie's Angels pose. The throwback photo was of the pair when they were performing both dressed in leotards and knee high boots.
Along with the snap, Kimberley wrote: “Always loved this pic of us. Happy heavenly birthday Sarah we miss you more than ever and I know you’ll be loving that you had a number 1 on your birthday week”. Fans rushed to the comments with one adding “always our no 1 girl <3”.
Another fan added: “This is pic is gorgeous! love you girls (forever)”, a third wrote: “Thinking of you all today, she’s watching over you, always”. A fourth said: “Sending lots of love and hugs today! I just know she’d be smiling endlessly after everything you’ve all done for her this year”.

Girls Aloud reunited earlier this year for a huge tour which brought them together for the first time in 11 years. Kimberley, Cheryl Cole, Nadine Coyle and Nicola Roberts returned to the stage in May to play some of their favourite hits dedicated to Sarah who died of cancer in 2021.
The girlband recently revealed they would be releasing a charity single, a new release of Stand By You with Sarah on lead vocals. In the clip, Cheryl, opened up about the significance of the song. In addition to becoming the band’s second ever number one single, the track gained a whole new significance following Sarah’s death three years ago .
“Back in 2004 we were really honoured to be asked to release the official Children In Need single of our cover I’ll Stand By You,” said Nicola. “There was a huge campaign that we travelled around the UK to promote the song and the amazing work Children In Need do,” added Nadine.
Meanwhile, Cheryl added: “It was our second ever number one single. We’ve played it at every tour ever since.” Nicola continued: “When we got back together to tour earlier this year we dedicated the song I’ll Stand By You to Sarah at every show . We went through the Girls Aloud vault and put together a version where Sarah’s incredible voice took the lead so we could duet with her."
To help raise funds for the charity, money from each sale will be going to BBC Children In Need to help care for more children and families across the UK.
