FYI, Kim Kardashian just green lit the return of belly button piercings
Truly shocking update from belly buttons, as a brand: Kim Kardashian appears to have debuted a new (actually, technically old) piercing. The SKIMS founder and aspiring lawyer dropped a photo of her ring – a super subtle and extremely demure diamond – on Instagram, casually buried in a carousel of other pics including one of her family decked out in matching pyjamas emblazoned with Kris Jenner's face. Including Kris herself rocking a pair. Icon behaviour.
But back to Kim's own icon behaviour, because yes bringing back a Y2K staple definitely counts as iconic. Go ahead and swipe:

For what it's worth, this is not technically a ‘new’ piercing – though Kim hasn't worn a belly button ring in several minutes. Back in 2017, Kim shared on her now-defunct website that she actually has six body piercings. One in her right ear, four in her left ear and one in her belly button. But, as recent snaps of the reality star turned entrepreneur in a bikini or crop top can attest, she usually doesn't accessorise her abdomen with a belly button piercing. If she wants any bling at all, she'll add a belly chain.
Just another peak Y2K trend. Perhaps it's no surprise Kim is backing belly piercings. And, given she's led the way on a number of trends including naked dressing and wearing archival, vintage designer pieces, of course she's the first to green light this retro look.
