The first official snap of the upcoming series of Britain’s Got Talent has been released, featuring brand new guest judge, KSI, real name, Olajide Olayinka Williams "JJ" Olatunji. The auditions have finally kicked off for the upcoming 18th series of the hit ITV show, and will feature regular hosts Ant and Dec, as well as judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon.

Adding a brand new shake-up to the panel will be YouTube sensation KSI as he steps in for Bruno Tonioli for three audition days, whilst he fulfils work commitments in the US. The auditions kicked off in Blackpool this week, where members of the public showcased their skills, in a bid to win that coveted prize of a spot on the bill of the Royal Variety Performance and a life-changing £250,000 cash prize.

The judges and hosts looked ecstatic to kick off the new series, as they were all smiles in front of that all important golden buzzer. Simon looked dapper in all black and a pair of red sunglasses as he placed his arm around Declan Donnelly, who also opted for all black.

New judge KSI also opted for the all black look as he couldn’t hide his excitement for his first day on the job. He sat next to Alesha, who stunned in a white crop top, jazzing her look up with gold chokers. Amanda, who is also back on the panel also rocked the gold necklaces to go with her khaki outfit.

Despite KSI’s innocent smile in the newly released snaps, the star has teased he’s going to be a ‘villain’ on the show. “I’ve kicked Bruno out, and I’m taking his place!” he joked in a chat with Capital Radio.

“Actually, he’s coming back, but I’m there for a little bit. Yeah, it’s going to be fun, man. I’m going to judge some talent.” Teasing what type of judge he’d be, the singer/songwriter said: “Everyone thinks I’m going to be an evil judge, I’m going to be a villain – I’m going to just press the red button as soon as they walk out.

“I might do that every now and then, but I’m just going to have fun with it and we’ll just see what happens,” he reassured listeners.

Previously speaking on his new gig, the star said he ‘couldn’t believe it’ when he got the call. "When I got the call-up, I couldn’t believe it. I remember watching old BGT episodes and going from being amazed to laughing my arse off. I’m buzzing to see all the fresh new talent, and I’ll be sure to leave a mark."

Bruno also approved of his temporary ‘replacement’ saying he ‘couldn’t think of anyone better to keep his seat warm’.

Britain’s Got Talent will return to ITV1 and ITVX in 2025.
