With Easter nearly here, it's likely you have already snapped up your favourite eggs. But from classic treats such as Creme Eggs to tasty Mini Eggs, just how many calories are in some of the UK’s bestselling Easter treats? Well, read on to find out.

If you’re planning to pop a couple of Creme Eggs into your basket then you may be surprised to learn just how many calories they hold.

A 40g Creme Egg contains 177 calories, but it's the sugar content that's really going to pack a sweet punch with 26g in each egg.

Considering current NHS recommendations state that added sugar should make up no more than 5% of our daily calorie intake, that's quite high. For adults, this means a maximum of 30g of sugar a day (the equivalent to seven sugar cubes roughly) so one Creme Egg is nearly your full daily sugar allowance.
