The Dyson V8 Absolute Vacuum has £150 off and is well worth buying

I own the original V8, and the upgraded version is even better and currently hugely reduced.

Dyson makes some of the best cordless vacuum cleaners on the market, but they're undoubtedly expensive, so when we spot a deal, we're all over it. Currently the Dyson V8 Absolute Vacuum is reduced from £399.99 to £249.99 - that's an impressive £150 discount.

As someone who has owned the original iteration, Dyson's V8 Cordless Vacuum Cleaner, for nearly four years, I can wholeheartedly recommend Dyson devices. My own vacuum cleaner is convenient, lightweight and so easy to use, it's one of the best investments I've ever made.

This cordless vacuum cleaner has a strong suction, interchangeable heads for cleaning different surfaces with ease, a 40-minute battery life and low noise motor.

This £150 discount is too good to pass up, so I've got the lowdown on the V8 Absolute Vacuum that's currently on offer and how it differs from my classic V8 model.

Sometimes different model names can be confusing and it doesn't help that many of the Dyson cordless vacuum cleaners look strikingly similar.

What's the same: Both the Dyson V8 Cordless Vacuum Cleaner, which I own, and the Dyson V8 Absolute Vacuum share a lot of the same features; they both have a 40-minute run time, to charge fully takes five hours, and both have a dustbin capacity of 0.54 litres, along with the same dimensions (H125.6 x L22.1 x W25cm).

Both models are able to get into those hard-to-reach, narrow or high-up spaces thanks to the flexible and lightweight vacuum stick. They also both quickly transform into a handheld device, so the vacuum really is one versatile gadget that can clean all around your home and car.

🆕 What's different: Firstly, the smallest difference is the weight. The Dyson V8 Cordless Vacuum Cleaner weighs 2.58kg, while the Dyson V8 Absolute Vacuum is slightly less at 2.54kg.

The biggest difference is the detachable heads that come with each model. The V8 comes with three: a motorbar cleaner head, crevice tool, combination tool - plus, a docking station and charger.

Meanwhile, the V8 Absolute comes with seven attachments: a motorbar cleaner head, fluffy cleaner head, mattress tool, quick-release mini soft dusting brush, hair screw tool, crevice tool, combination tool - plus, a docking station and charger.

The wider range of accessories means you have more options for various flooring. For example, the fluffy cleaner head is designed specifically to pick up dust and debris on hard floors, so if you have a lot of hard floors the V8 Absolute could be more efficient for you.

💸 Reasons to buy a Dyson V8 Vacuum

I've owned my Dyson V8 Cordless Vacuum Cleaner for years and find it works brilliantly on my mix of hard wood and carpeted floors in my flat. There's no fiddly set up or assembly when the box arrives, and the accompanying docking station allows you to hang it up on the wall for a clutter-free space.

The attachment I most like to use is the detangling motor cleaning head, which is ideal for covering large surface areas, such as the kitchen or living room floor. The clever ball in-between the head and the stick also allows you to pivot around corners and sharp edges easily.

It's easy to use, fast to charge and simple to clean - everything you could want from a vacuum.

The crevice tool comes a close second. It's a long-angled attachment that sucks up dust from the tightest of spaces, skirting boards, carpet edges and bookshelves, you name it. The suction power is ultra-strong but quiet and swiftly gets rid of dust, dirt, crumbs and hair from my carpet and leaves my laminate kitchen floor spotless.

When the bin needs emptying, there's no faffing around or dealing with dusty vacuum bags, you simply hold it over your kitchen bin, click the button, the base of it will spring open and all the contents drop into your rubbish, without making any mess.
