Duchess of Cambridge refreshingly unpolished in previously unseen photo
Royal fans are used to seeing the Duchess of Cambridge in stunning dresses, with perfect make-up and a immaculate hair.
But the royal has shared a picture of her getting dirty with her gardening team at the Chelsea Flower Show last year, proving she really got stuck in.
Kate, 38, debuted at the Chelsea Flower Show in 2019, with a garden which aimed to promote the mental and physical health benefits of being outside.
A year on, the Royal Family have been encouraging people to follow this year’s virtual flower show as the Royal Horticultural Society was forced to cancel the usual events because of the coronavirus pandemic.
In the picture, shared on the Kensington Royal social media accounts, Kate is seen wearing jeans, which have picked up some dust and mud from the garden, and a creased shirt.

With her sleeves rolled up, gardening gloves on, and hair tied back, the royal is handed a plant in a pot from one of the fellow gardeners who worked on her project.

The caption said: “One year on from The Duchess of Cambridge's #BackToNature Garden, the Chelsea Flower Show is going digital!
“Visit @The_RHS to join the virtual #ChelseaFlowerShow for practical gardening advice from world-leading designers and experts 🏡🌱 all from the comfort of your own home.
“The Duchess’s Back to Nature garden in 2019 aimed to highlight the physical and mental health benefits of the natural world and inspire children, families, and communities to enjoy the great outdoors.”
The Queen toured the duchess’s garden, alongside Prince William and the Cambridges also took their children to see her efforts.
Explaining the concept behind the garden, the Royal Family website states: “The garden is inspired by elements of The Duchess’s childhood and by more recent memories with HRH’s own children, with the garden recapturing the sense of wonder and magic that adults enjoyed as children when exploring outside.”

Before it opened, the duchess said: “In recent years I have focussed much of my work on the early years, and how instrumental they are for outcomes later in life. I believe that spending time outdoors when we are young can play a role in laying the foundations for children to become happy, healthy adults.”
Earlier in the week, other members of the Royal Family revealed their favourite flowers as they gave their support to the virtual shows.
The Queen has been patron of the RHS since she acceded to the throne and has only missed a few of the annual flower shows during her reign.
