Drew Barrymore rocks the glam goth look in off-the-shoulder gown at US prize show
Drew Barrymore took a break from her eponymous talk show – where shirts, blouses and suits are commonplace – to return to the red carpet in a glamorous floor-length gown as she cheered on her former co-star Adam Sandler on Sunday night.
Barrymore, 48, arrived at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C to watch fellow actor and comedian Sandler receive the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor in an all-black floor-length ruffled gown alongside several other famous faces, including Idina Menzel and Jennifer Aniston.
The elegant off-the-shoulder, halterneck-style gown by Needle & Thread was adorned with floral lace and featured a sweet bow detail at the neck.
The layered, ruffled dress is the perfect example of the newly resurrected ‘Goth Glam’ trend, which sees darker shades paired with ‘ditsy’ details such as lace and bows, and comes in a £465 - relatively cheap for a celebrity red carpet look.
The actor cinched in the ‘Primrose’ black gown at her waist with a patent black belt and accessorised with a pair of drop, bow-detailed earrings and a black and gold clutch bag, which matched her gold ring and watch.

Barrymore, who shot to fame with her breakout role in 1982's E.T the Extra-Terrestrial aged just seven, wore her signature chestnut brown hair styled in loose waves.
Following childhood stardom, and a few somewhat tumultuous teenage years, Barrymore went on to star in several successful Hollywood movies, including co-starring with Sandler in The Wedding Singer (1998), 50 First Dates (2004), and Blended (2014) over the past two decades.
Barrymore is now the host of her own talk show, The Drew Barrymore Show, shown on CBS in the US.
Several other celebrities joined Barrymore in watching Sandler become the 24th recipient of the Mark Twain Prize, which is widely considered to be one of the highest honours an entertainer can achieve.
Ben Stiller, Chris Rock, Pete Davidson and Dana Carvey were also seen attending the event in support of the actor.
