Disney star breaks silence after suffering devastating family tragedy

Pop sensation Demi Lovato is mourning a devastating loss within her family. Her sister, Madison De La Garza, shared the heartbreaking news that her newborn daughter, Xiomara, tragically passed away last month following complications that led to an emergency C-section.

Madison, 22, shared her grief on Instagram and wrote: "On the evening of September 27th, after an emergency c-section, Ryan and I held our little girl for the first and last time. Thank you, Xiomara, for making us parents to the most perfect angel in heaven. Mommy and Daddy love you sweet girl."

Demi then took to Instagram with her own message in tribute to her 'beautiful' and 'perfect' niece. Resharing her sister's post, the singer wrote: "RIP to my beautiful, perfect niece Xiomara. I'm so grateful I got to hold you.. I'll forever be your auntie [to broken love heart emojis].

She ended the caption with: "I love you so much @maddelagarza."

Madison and Demi's sister, Dallas, 36, also shared a heartfelt tribute to Xiomara and said: "Baby girl Xiomara, I miss you everyday. I'll take good care of your mom, so you can fly away. Watch over us and guide us and give us little signs. One day we'll come and see you, it just might take some time."

Madison, known for her role as Juanita Solis on Desperate Housewives, had excitedly announced her pregnancy in early September, revealing a due date in October. She expressed her love for her partner Ryan in an Instagram post dated September 5, which featured snaps of the couple with Madison's baby bump visible.

She wrote: "Oh Ryan, how I love you. Thank you for making all of my dreams come true. Baby mitchell 10.24." Ryan reciprocated with a comment saying, "I love you," to which Madison replied, "My everything."

Celebratory photos also showed Madison with her family, including mum Dianna De La Garza, Dallas, and Demi, who expressed her excitement as she penned, "I love you and this baby so much already!!" Recently, Demi shared her enthusiasm about becoming an auntie with E! News at the screening of her Hulu documentary Child Star, where she emphasised that family is a core value for her.

"I’m really excited to have new life come into our family. Family is very valued to me. I value family and friends over success any day.." Demi gushed.
