Charlotte praised for soothing Louis during Trooping the Colour procession
Princess Charlotte has been praised after she was spotted helping to calm and care for her little brother Prince Louis during their debut Trooping the Colour procession.
Charlotte, seven, was seen holding the hand of Louis, four, as they travelled together in a horse-drawn carriage from Buckingham Palace to Horse Guards Parade and back again.
On social media, royal fans noted the sweet, sisterly display of affection as the pair beamed and waved to the crowds positioned along The Mall in central London.
One Twitter user commented, "How cute is Charlotte! Holding Louis hand."
Another commented: "How sweet is Charlotte holding onto Prince Louis’s hand" while a third wrote, "Awww look at Charlotte holding Louis’ hand. Precious."
Meanwhile a fourth speculated that she might have been gently restraining him from waving too much, adding: "Charlotte telling Louis to put his hand down is the Queen energy we expect from her!"
The pair sat beside their older brother Prince George, eight, highlighting how the three Cambridge children were all matching with outfits in different shades of blue.
Charlotte wore a dress featuring a subtle bow, while Louis had on a sailor-style outfit that once belonged to their father Prince William, and George donned a navy suit.
The youngsters sat opposite their mother Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge as well as Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall for the brief journey between Buckingham Palace and Horse Guards Parade.
Their appearance, along with other members of the royal family, took place at the start of celebrations for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee, to mark the monarch's 70-year reign.
The Cambridge children – who were appearing together at Trooping the Colour for the first time – later joined their parents, the Queen and other senior royals on the Buckingham Palace balcony for an RAF flypast.
