“Dopamine dressing” is the trend taking over tailoring this season, and it looks like celebrities and their stylists have started to take note.
The term, coined for its joy-inducing qualities, is essentially serotonin in sartorial form; vibrant outfits and colourful palettes with the ability to boost your mood.
All over the spring/summer 2022 catwalks, the style is about embracing colour and using it to improve your mood and its set to be all the rage this summer.

The latest in a long line of celebrities trying out the endorphin-boosting trend? Eva Longoria, who stunned in a coordinating vibrant orange cropped trouser suit in the French Riviera.
The actor, 47, balanced out the bright colours with a pale beige corset beneath the ensemble, which was the perfect addition to the blazing sunshine at the Cannes Film Festival, which started today.
The trend's catalyst seems to be when actress Julia Roberts stepped out in a cropped trouser suit earlier this year in a shade that can only be described as ‘lemon meringue pie’.
The 54-year-old – who was promoting her new show, Gaslit – was the epitome of a sunny disposition as she was spotted outside The Late Show with Stephen Colbert in the sherbert-shaded custom Lafayette 148 suit with her recognisable beaming smile.
Since, actress and director Olivia Wilde took on the trend with aplomb in a royal blue velvet suit for her presentation of The Big Picture at CinemaCon, whilst Amanda Holden proved you needn’t empty the bank account to try out the trend: her vibrant green Zara blazer dress is available for £89.99.
However, once the trend started to grow legs, the overwhelming hue that took over is undoubtedly Eva's shade of orange. But not just any orange; a highlighter-hued, almost neon shade set to dust off any signs of winter in one fell swoop.
Fresh from her Barbie-pink mini dress outfit worn to Gigi Hadid’s birthday party, Blake Lively picked her go-to designer-of-the-moment Sergio Hudson to test the waters with a vibrant orange pantsuit as she walked through New York earlier this month.
Elsewhere, Viola Davis took her tailoring casual whilst doing press at SiriusFM in New York. The How To Get Away With Murder star paired her vibrant orange velvet suit with a pair of white trainers for a laidback luxe effect that still meant business.
Sarah Paulson snapped up the shade for a Burberry event, opting for a dynamic take on the standard spring suiting; her trouser suit, designed by the brand’s chief creative officer Riccardo Tisci, featured a pleated overskirt and large logo print.
