Carol Vorderman revisits two previously worn outfits for Pride of Britain Awards
Carol Vorderman is no stranger to the Pride of Britain Awards. The former Countdown star has been hosting the annual award show – which pays honour to some of the UK’s most inspiring heroes – since it first aired in 1999.

Yesterday, she hosted for the 24th time, this time joined by dancer Ashley Banjo. Voderman, 61, stunned in two dresses: a red gown with a train for the red carpet and a strapless grey dress to present in.
On Sunday evening, Vorderman surprised her 247k Instagram followers by showing them exactly what she’d be wearing to the award show.
And whilst most celebrities like to use events and red carpets to show off new, lavish outfits, Vorderman opted for the sustainable route this year.
“In the spirit of hand me downs and sustainability... @ashleybanjogram and I are wearing beautiful outfits for this years [sic] Pride of Britain which we’ve worn previously ♻️🤩 Ash is wearing the suit he wore as best man at @jordbanjo wedding earlier this year and I’m wearing a stunning gown which I wore on stage for POB in 2018,” she captioned the Instagram video.
“The dress is a lovely silk and it’s been a great, sustainable process. P.s… they’re NOT real gems around the waist....ha ha,” she revealed.

“We’re doing things a little bit differently this year, we’ve been working hard to make the whole event as green as we can,” the host explained.
“As part of that, for my red carpet and on-stage outfits, I’m wearing two dresses that I have worn before, so we’ve upcycled two of the amazing dresses that have been made for me.”
If you tuned in to the show last year, Vorderman’s second dress might look familiar. She donned the fiery red design by Suzanne Neville when co-hosting the event in 2021.
"Last year I wore this stunning red dress made by @suzanneneville on the stage to host the show. This year we’re adding a simple chiffon train and wearing it on the red carpet. I’m so happy for two reasons. I really love this dress....and it still fits. Ha," she revealed in a second Instagram post.

"You know I love wearing the same things many, many, many times over. And I was brought up wearing hand-me-downs," she said.
"This year on @prideofbritain we're taking this and upcycling our outfits and quite right too."
