'If Camilla's won over William and Harry, we should cut her some slack'

The Duchess of Cornwall has long cut a divisive figure in British public life.
The public might have embraced Camilla more but according to a YouGov survey, she is only the 10th most popular royal. Only 29% were in favour of the Duchess of Cornwall.
Her husband Charles only just pipped her to the post as the seventh most popular but his sons William and Harry and their wives Kate and Meghan ranked above both of them.
The public’s devotion to the late Princess of Wales has not helped her cause.
Charles had an affair with Camilla during his marriage to Diana. During her BBC ‘Panorama’ interview in 1995, Diana famously said: “Well, there were three of us in this marriage, so it was a bit crowded.”
Speaking on Yahoo UK‘s ‘The Royal Box,’ CNN royal contributor Victoria Arbiter thinks the public should cut Camilla some slack.
She says: “If Camilla’s good enough for William and Harry, if she’s won them over, then I think all of us can cut her a little slack because nobody was hurt more than William and Harry.”
Since her marriage to Charles in 2005, Camilla has supported her husband with his work. She is also patron of over 90 charities and focuses on issues including health, literacy, supporting victims of rape and sexual abuse and domestic violence and empowering women.
PR expert Nick Ede adds: “I’d love to see more of her [Camilla] because she has this great sense of humour and as someone touched in there as well, she does have the common touch as well, so I think that if we bring that out more, it could be really good.”
