Big Brother star explains what happens when girls get their period in the BB house
Big Brother star Lily Benson has revealed what it's like for housemates who have their time of the month in the iconic house - particularly if you're hit with a nasty case of period cramps. The reality star took part in the 2024 series of Big Brother and while she was a favourite to make it into the final, she placed 11th in the competition after being evicted last week.
Speaking to OK! in an exclusive chat, Lily opened up about what happened when she came on her period in the house and the help that she was given by producers. "What I didn't understand before I did the show is that it's like a full time job [for producers]. It's a 24-hour situation," she said. "I thought they went home when we go to sleep but they don't - I had to go to the diary room for a paracetamol because I had period camps. It was in the middle of the night."
She added that housemates are also provided with tampons and other sanitary products, while painkillers are available on request. "I had cramps so I just asked for paracetamol and they gave it to me through a hatch," she added.

Big Brother fans will know that Lily loved to stay away up past the house's bedtime, with the reality star admitting that she would often chat to producers in the diary room when she couldn't sleep. "I would go in the diary room in the middle of the night and be like, 'I don't want to go to sleep yet.' There would be people talking to me. It just made me feel like, 'We are getting watched.' It's a full time job.
"I just hated going to sleep. It's so sad closing your eyes and saying goodbye to everyone for the day and ending the day - I don't want to do it."
There have been four evictions since Lily left the house, with the Chinese takeaway server being closely followed out of the house by Khaled Khaled. Rosie Williams - also known as Baked Potato on the show - was the next person to be voted out of the house, followed by Sarah Griffiths and Thomas Atkinson.
Earlier this week, fans of the show took to social media to fume over Big Brother's latest twist which resulted in Rosie being given a backdoor eviction. Viewers described the competition's new development as 'unfair', with one viewer writing: "Please just start the series 3 weeks earlier next year and do more double evictions so we don't have to deal with horrific twists like this in the final week. Oh, and don't call it a 'vote to win' if you're not going to evict the person with the least overall votes."
Big Brother continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2.
