Beyoncé and Kelly Rowland's coordinating gold outfits prove twinning is winning
Question, tell me what you think about the fact Beyoncé and Kelly Rowland just had a mini Destiny's Child reunion?! Michelle, you were missed. We're obvs using the fact the two met up at an event in New York last night [Tuesday 8 October] as an excuse to play the group's '90s and '00s tunes all day. Cue Survivor, Bootylicious, Say My Name, Independent Woman – the list goes on – all on repeat.
But what makes this meet-up an even bigger deal is the fact Bey and Kelly were perfectly coordinated in their looks for the occasion. They, of course, have plenty of experience matching from their girl band days. Whether it was music videos, red carpets, performances or parties, the Destiny's Child trio (and quartet, back when they were an OG four-piece) were always dressed alike.
So, the fact that Beyoncé and Kelly *both* got the gold memo in their most recent ensembles is the nostalgia we didn't know we needed this morning.
Beyoncé opted for a Sergio Hudson outfit that was straight off the designer's recent spring summer 2025 runway. Consisting of a pale yellow short-sleeved knit jumper to tap into the butter yellow trend paired with a high-waist gold satin maxi skirt, an oversized yellow belt was cinched around her waist, lending the look a retro vibe. The vintage feel was emphasised by her blonde hair that was styled into a short curly 'do.
Kelly's own take on metallics featured a Gaurav Gupta SS23 Couture sequinned suit. Her plunging black blazer with XL boxy shoulder pads channelled the '80s with its sharp silhouette. Worn with wide-leg trousers, both pieces were entirely embellished with golden sequins in a dripping design. Kelly's dark hair was similarly styled in a bouncy blow-dry and deep side part.
Yep, consider this definitive evidence: twinning is always winning.
