The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) released footage of a raid on the Kamal Adwan Hospital in north Gaza on October 28.The IDF said it was operating at the hospital on Friday, October 25, following “intelligence information on terrorists and terror infrastructure in the area,” the Times of Israel reported.It said, “A number of terrorists […] had barricaded themselves inside the hospital […] soldiers apprehended approximately 100 terrorists from the compound, including terrorists who attempted to escape during the evacuation of civilians.”Soldiers “found weapons, terror funds, and intelligence documents” in the hospital and “in the surrounding area,” the IDF said.Gaza’s health ministry said on Friday that the Israel Defense Forces had stormed the hospital, detaining and arresting a number of staff.According to World Health Organization Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, 44 male members of staff were detained, leaving “only female staff, the hospital director, and one male doctor […] to care for nearly 200 patients.”The raid left widespread damage in the hospital after Israeli forces withdrew, Al Jazeera reported on Saturday.Ghebreyesus called the situation in northern Gaza “catastrophic,” and, “the Health Ministry in Gaza informed us that the siege at Kamal Adwan Hospital has ended, but it came at a heavy cost.” Credit: IDF via Storyful

A criminal court in Paris decided Monday to postponed the sex assault trial of French actor Gérard Depardieu because of his health concerns, shifting the start of the proceedings to March of next year. Depardieu’s lawyer Jérémie Assous requested the postponement, saying that the actor has heart trouble and diabetes-related issues. Assous said that doctors had decided the actor was not well enough to attend the proceedings, although he was eager to appear and defend himself before the court.
