While William was dad-dancing in Verbier, Kate was at Pippa Middleton's secret hen do

Pippa Middleton has started preparations for her wedding to James Matthews next month. The 33-year-old flew her sister – the Duchess of Cambridge – and friends to a secret hen do at a French ski resort.

“Pippa loves skiing so it was her first choice for a hen weekend,” a friend told The Sun. “They stayed in a really exclusive catered chalet with maids and a chef who ensured that they were totally spoilt.”

The source also revealed that the hen party were “showered with gifts” including “Swatch watches, Ugg slippers, leather-bound notebooks and bespoke fragrances.”

Meanwhile, Prince William was spotted worse for wear in a club in Verbier, Switzerland. The future king can be seen dad dancing with friends in a series of videos.

William was heavily criticised for missing the Commonwealth Day service to party especially as all the other senior royals attended.

The royal’s heavy drinking also affected his ski weekend according to a source: “Apparently the girls on Pippa’s hen were giggling as Kate told them that William had had to be escorted down from the mountain for being too drunk.”

Pippa’s wedding will take place on May 20 in Englefield, Berkshire followed by a reception at the Middleton family home nearby. Dramatic designer Giles Deacon will reportedly be the man behind her wedding dress.
