I can tell that it’s officially fall: The leaves are now the colors of sunset, the temperature has dropped, and everyone in my household except the teenager has stopped wearing shorts.

There are seasonal signs at my favorite grocery store, too. ALDI is making me fall for some very autumnal offerings.

I enjoy the warm, sweet spices of autumn, and ALDI’s got everything pumpkin, cinnamon, and apple going on right now. Here are three of my fall favorites: Bake Shop Pumpkin Cake Roll, Barissimo Pumpkin Spice Cold Foam, and Nature’s Nectar Spiced Apple Cider.

Why I Love These Three ALDI Fall Finds

I love baking pumpkin bread during the fall, but since I’ve been busy with writing and driving a certain teenager to gymnastics practices and volleyball meets, I haven’t had time to bake. Fortunately, ALDI’s got me covered with their new Bake Shop Pumpkin Cake Roll.

For just $4.95, you get a little more than a pound of pumpkin cake. When you open up the package, you get a whiff of cinnamon, cloves, and ginger. It’s all rolled up with buttercream frosting and dusted with powdered sugar. There’s so much frosting filling inside that some of this creamy, cinnamony frosting oozes out of the cake, which is moist and pumpkiny.

My son likes this cake so much that he ate almost an entire roll—all 18 ounces of it—in one sitting. He did, however, leave me one skinny slice, which was nice of him.

The roll tastes pretty fantastic by itself, but I do think that a really good use of the Barissimo Pumpkin Spice Cold Foam is to top the pumpkin roll.

The regular Barissimo Cold Foam, at $3.49 per 13-ounce container, has become a bestseller at ALDI. The seasonal flavor costs only 20 cents more. It’s creamy and smells just like a pumpkin spice coffee drink without the coffee.

I think it’s intended for making homemade pumpkin spice lattes, which I’ve done, but it’s so much more versatile than that. It tastes great on top of chai tea and it also tastes really good on pudding, cake and ice cream. It’s a delicious, sweet indulgence.

The pumpkin spice cold foam also actually tastes great on hot cider, and ALDI’s got the perfect apple cider for this. Nature’s Nectar Spiced Apple Cider is 64 ounces of 100 percent juice for only $2.89. The cider isn’t just apple juice—it’s spiced up with lemon juice and a fall spice blend of cinnamon, cloves, lemon peel, and orange peel. It reminds me of the spiced cider I love at Trader Joe’s, but it’s cheaper at ALDI.

This cider can be enjoyed cold or warm. And while it’s tasty by itself, it also makes a fantastic base for a hot toddy if you add some bourbon or brandy. It’s the perfect drink to fend off the chills this season.
