And I decided to reach to Loryn (who happens to be a former BuzzFeeder herself) to find out what inspired her latest work! Here's what she shared:

BuzzFeed: So, let's start from the beginning. What inspired these poems?

Loryn Brantz: These poems were very much inspired by real life. I wrote the first one, Photos of You, right after that exact scenario happened. After that, I just couldn’t stop writing them!

BF: I saw that you have a book of these poems coming out in the spring. Can you tell us anything about the forthcoming collection that people may not realize?

LB: Yes! About half the book has never been seen before, so I’m excited to share them in April. Something else people may not realize is that the design of the mom in these poems is the same as in my Love Poems Baby Can See books. So it’s still describing the same family, just from a different perspective 🙂.

BF: Any chance you can share an exclusive poem from the book with us?

LB: I think so! (We’ll see if I get in trouble LOL). Below is maybe my favorite one. I wrote it for my daughter, whose monitor I don’t know if or when I’ll ever be able to give up. She’s at risk for seizures in her sleep due to a rare genetic disorder, which probably makes the poem less funny…but it is the truth.
