Former Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay reckons he has not looked back after making the call to move away from the club where he spent 22 years of his life.

The 27-year-old was adored by supporters at Old Trafford as, although he was part of a United team at one of its lowest points in history, it was often he that embodied their spirit of fighting for the badge that Sir Alex Ferguson and other iconic managers before him spread throughout the club.

McTominay, of course, had this drilled into him from the age of five, when he joined the club's youth system, and he went on to tot-up 255 senior appearances.

He was part of their starting XI some 171 times and, under Erik ten Hag, his minutes were becoming limited. With only one year left on his contract, the time was coming to either commit further into the next stage of his career, or ultimately seek out a new challenge domestically or abroad.

"It was a huge decision for me and my family and my friends. Times like that in your life you just have to say; 'Do I want to do it'? Absolutely, and go for it," he told PA (Press Association).

His arrival in Italy has been met with the same reception from Napoli's supporters as he had so often received in Manchester. Napoli top Serie A while his third goal for the club last weekend was an equaliser against Inter Milan to keep them in pole position.

"There's no looking back." he went on. "I've never had any regrets in my life or my career and I'll continue that way to this day. I want my career to be successful, and I'm going to go out of my way to try and push myself to be the best football player and best person that I can possibly be, as well."
