Roy Keane and Ian Wright in major Alejandro Garnacho disagreement – 'Get a job elsewhere'
Roy Keane and Ian Wright were embroiled in a heated debate about Alejandro Garnacho's muted goal celebration for Manchester United.
United legend Keane slammed Garnacho by telling him to "get a job elsewhere", while Wright responded with far more sympathy towards the young Argentine.
Garnacho was brought on from the bench during Sunday's 3-0 Premier League win over Leicester City. The 20-year-old netted a superb curled effort in the 82nd minute but kept his celebration more subdued than usual, with his captain Bruno Fernandes revealing post-match that Garnacho felt he had lost the confidence of the fans.

"I told him people will always moan but lots of people like you and enjoy what you do," Fernandes explained. "I told him to celebrate, it was something special."
United’s iconic captain and pundit Keane has since weighed in in a typically brutal fashion. The Irishman blasted Garnacho, stating he should respect the travelling fans by showing emotion or leave the club if he can't bring himself to celebrate.
Keane, speaking on the Stick to Football podcast, brought to you by Sky Bet, said: "If you can't celebrate a goal, there is something drastically wrong with this game. Whatever has gone on off the pitch for any player – it could be family stuff – you work all week, you're playing the game to score a goal.
“When you score a goal, there should be nothing else on your mind. You’ve got fans who have travelled, paid fortunes to get there, and he’s [Garnacho] on about people having a go at him.”
He continued: “People make sacrifices to travel to watch, he scores a brilliant goal, they are having a tough time – and if a younger player can’t enjoy scoring a goal for Man United, then get a job somewhere else.”
Wright disagreed with his co-pundit. The legend argued: "For a 20-year-old, he's still going through the journey of what he's doing. That [fans' criticism] affected him to the point where he didn't celebrate.
“That’s how much it affected him. He scored a great goal, but he’s worried about that. It’s the saddest thing in the world when someone scores and they don’t celebrate because of something that has happened. He’s probably playing in anger. He can’t not think about it.”
Garnacho’s restrained celebration followed a tense interaction with a fan before the midweek Europa League clash with PAOK, where a YouTuber criticised his first touch and passing. The Argentine sarcastically responded: "Why aren't you playing man?”
Despite facing scrutiny, the winger has had a decent season thus far, boasting seven goals and four assists in 18 appearances across all competitions.
