Liverpool injury update: Diogo Jota, Federico Chiesa and Harvey Elliott latest news and return dates

Arne Slot continues to impress during the opening few months of his Liverpool tenure.

The Reds boss is making light work of the challenge of replacing the iconic Jurgen Klopp at Anfield, though it of course remains an early stage of the season.

It will be fascinating to see where Liverpool go from here, particularly as the fixtures pile up thick and fast.

Battling across four different fronts, Slot will no doubt need his whole squad available to him.

With that in mind, here’s a look at the latest Liverpool injuries

Diogo Jota

Diogo Jota has been in good form this season but is now facing an extended spell on the sidelines after sustaining a rib injury during the 2-1 win over Chelsea earlier this month.

Speaking ahead of the Carabao Cup clash with Brighton, Slot suggested the Portugal international would not return before the next international break.

Potential return date: November 2024

Federico Chiesa

Summer signing Federico Chiesa has endured a difficult start to life at Liverpool, having missed the entirety of pre-season.

While Slot has denied any suggestion the Italian could leave in January, he did reveal that the forward is still building his way back up to full fitness.

“He trains a few days then goes out again. I don't want to put days or weeks on it,” he said.

“We just want him to be in the best possible shape. No pressure on him.”

Potential return date: Unknown

Harvey Elliott

Harvey Elliott has played only once this season after suffering a fractured foot while playing for the England U21s in September.

The 21-year-old is not expected back until after the international break in November.

Potential return date: November 2024

Alisson Becker

Alisson Becker has been dealing with a hamstring injury since the win over Crystal Palace in October and isn’t likely to feature for a while.

"He's progressing well," Slot said in October. "Like we expected, but it is not a short-term recovery, so it is always difficult to judge. The best way to judge an injury is at the end of an injury, in that phase of the rehab.

"And he is not there yet. I can't tell you how long he will be out but don't expect him to be in against Brighton in the cup or next week."
