The first round of international fixtures have not even kicked-off yet and Ruben Amorim has already been handed an injury concern ahead of his first game in charge of Manchester United.

Amorim officially started his role at Old Trafford on Monday after replacing Erik ten Hag. His first game is next Sunday against Ipswich Town meaning he has to wait just under two weeks to get a taste of Premier League action.

Before then, United have a number of players representing their national teams. The likes of Bruno Fernandes, Rasmus Hojlund, Matthijs de Ligt and Alejandro Garnacho will travel across the world for two fixtures.

However, one player who won't play for their national team this month is Lisandro Martinez. The defender has pulled out of the Argentina squad for their upcoming World Cup qualifiers with Paraguay and Peru.

Martinez played the entire 90 minutes against Leicester City on Sunday despite requiring treatment from the United medical staff. News that he has been forced to pull out of the Argentina squad will leave United nervous about his availability for the Ipswich game.

United have been without Harry Maguire in recent weeks and Leny Yoro remains out after suffering a fractured metatarsal in pre-season. Unfortunately for Amorim, he now faces being without three central defenders.

A number of players are also facing a race against time to get fit. Kobbie Mainoo has missed the last seven games with a muscle injury, but could return next weekend, while Luke Shaw remains absent. Tyrell Malacia will step up his long road to recovery with an appearance for United's under-21s against Huddersfield on Tuesday but it is not known when he will be ready to return to first-team action.
