Fulham outcast Kevin Mbabu set for FC Midtjylland move to end Craven Cottage nightmare

Danish champions FC Midtjylland are closing in on a two-year deal to sign Kevin Mbabu from Fulham.

The Swiss international right-back has not been given a squad number at Craven Cottage this summer, and was made available for sale.

Standard Sport understands talks between the two clubs ran smoothly and Mbabu is set to leave Fulham before the close of the Danish transfer window. He is due to fly to Denmark on Thursday for a medical.

Mbabu joined Fulham from Bundesliga side Wolfsburg in July 2022 but has made just seven senior appearances for the Cottagers, despite featuring regularly for the Swiss national team in that time.

The 29-year-old joined Swiss side Servette on loan last February until the end of the 2022/23 season and spent last term in Germany with Augsburg.

He formerly represented Newcastle from 2013 to 2017 and has earned 24 caps for Switzerland since making his senior international debut in September 2018.
