Champions League table: League phase latest standings for 2024-25 season as Liverpool win

The third round of fixtures in the Champions League ‘League Phase’ began on Tuesday night.

Liverpool joined Aston Villa at the top of the League phase with a 1-0 victory over RB Leipzig, while Manchester City ran riot at home against Sparta Prague in a 5-0 win. Celtic got back on the board following a 0-0 draw away in Atalanta, while Barcelona smashed Bayern Munich 4-1.

Arsenal were back in action when hosting Ukrainian champions Shakhtar Donetsk, and picked up a 1-0 win to get things back on track after defeat to Bournemouth.

Aston Villa sit top after earning their third win on the bounce, following up a famous victory over Bayern Munich by beating Bologna. Real Madrid, meanwhile, fell two goals down against Borussia Dortmund, but staged a sensational comeback to win 5-2.
