Alan Shearer's staggering net worth, family life and daughters with famous boyfriends
Premier League icon Alan Shearer is a mainstay on Amazon Prime Video's commentary team for the Champions League this season - with action from the marquee European competition set to continue tonight. Liverpool and Manchester City play on Tuesday night against Bayer Leverkusen and Sporting CP respectively.
And the Liverpool game will be shown on Amazon Prime Video with Shearer involved in their coverage.
Shearer, who was infamously linked with a transfer to Manchester United as a player - although that never quite materialised for Sir Alex Ferguson and his all-conquering squad at the time - has become a renowned broadcaster since hanging up his goal-scoring boots.

A regular on the BBC and its flagship show Match of the Day, the Newcastle great is not only a pundit these days, but a commentator, as well. With that in mind, The Manchester Evening News has taken a look at the Shearer's life, in and out of the TV studio, including his family life outside the game he adores.
Astounding net worth
Shearer has amassed considerable personal wealth - both during and after his playing days. The 54-year-old set a transfer record when he joined Newcastle United for £15m from Blackburn Rovers in 1996, having already won the title with his former club and made a name for himself with Southampton.
His media work with the BBC, Al-Jazeera and now Amazon - along with his podcast, The Rest is Football with Gary Lineker and Micah Richards - has helped him maintain his status as one of the most recognisable names in football.
His BBC income alone brings him £380,000. However, Shearer's BBC salary saw a significant reduction this year, with the pundit seeing £65,000 cut from his 2022/23 earnings of £445,000. The footballing hero isn't likely to be bothered by financial concerns, as Goal reports his net worth to be a staggering £40m.
Wife out of the limelight
Away from the glitz, Shearer's wife, Lainya, shuns the spotlight. The couple have been together since Shearer's Southampton days, marrying in 1991 after living with her parents during his early career.
Together, they have three children, and Alan famously shared a tale of domestic fury when he moved away from Southampton to Blackburn in 1992 while Lainya was pregnant. During an episode of The Rest of Football, Shearer recounted his wife's dismay at their new hometown, with a heavily pregnant Lainya giving him her reaction to the town. "When she was eight months pregnant and looked at me in the car and said: 'What the f*** have you done?'"
Shearer has often mentioned that Lainya prefers the life away from the media attention he receives. Nonetheless, her name surfaced when Ruud Gullit reflected on his managerial tenure at Newcastle - a period marked by tension with Shearer.
Gullit made the decision to bench Shearer for a derby defeat against Sunderland at St. James' Park in August 1999, leading to his resignation three days later. Shearer later confessed that a victory against the Black Cats could have likely resulted in his departure from the club.
In his first season as manager, Gullit led the team to an FA Cup final, but his conflict with Shearer occurred during the final days of his tenure at St. James' Park. The two later collaborated in punditry - including for ITV Sport at the 2014 World Cup - where Lainya made a confession to the former Netherlands international.
Gullit revealed to The Sun: "The funny thing is that during the World Cup in Brazil 2014, we were working together for ITV. We ended up at a party and we were just laughing together and drinking.
"Alan's wife came over and said, 'I cannot believe it... in our house, you were the No.1 guy we hated and now you two are laughing and joking with each other'. We'd met a lot of times in TV studio but that night we really got on so well. Sometimes you cannot agree, but you can still respect one another."
Influencer daughters and their famous boyfriends
Shearer has three children who are all social media influencers; a son, Will, aged 24, and two daughters named Chloe, 31, and Hollie, 29.
All three boast significant social media followings - with Will having 16,000 followers, Chloe 18,000, and Hollie a staggering 81,000. Hollie has amassed her following through her singing and musical releases, not to mention her presence on TikTok, where she has 335,000 followers.
Chloe is carving out a career in talent management and has been involved with projects like Soccer Aid. Shearer's daughters are making headlines with their sporting partners. Hollie is romantically linked to England rugby star Joe Marchant, 28, who currently plays for Stade Francais in France.
Since Hollie and Marchant started dating, Shearer has noticed her growing an interest in rugby over football. He's even quipped about his approval of her boyfriend choice, saying: "I'm just glad it's not a footballer!"
Meanwhile, Chloe is in a relationship with former scrum-half Micky Young. The 35-year-old rugby player enjoyed two stints with Newcastle Falcons before moving on to Gloucester last year.
The Falcons have planned a testimonial year for Young, featuring a special football dinner event with none other than Shearer himself.
