The Dark Knight Rises and The Amazing Spider-Man posters go head-to-head
Marc Webb's moody-looking reboot of ‘Spider-Man’ has led some to claim he's imitating Nolan's success with 'The Dark Knight', and never was that clearer than over the weekend.
Within 24 hours of each other, next Summer's biggest superhero movies had released atmospheric black-and-white posters touting their wares.
Both images were textured, 'The Amazing Spider-Man' by a rough wall, 'The Dark Knight rises ' by a blanket of rainfall, they also hint at split and dual personalities, with Parker's spidery shadow predicting his transition to a hero and Batman's iconic mask representing everything that Bane is not.

Of course the cold, moody feel of both franchises is best exemplified by the dark, artsy black-and-white, and the fact that both posters obscure the characters at their centre (Parker/Spider-Man and Bane).
The similarities are there for all to see, and both have definitely whet our appetites for more.
Though there is one obvious difference between the two. While the ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ poster boldly declares 'The Legend Ends', ominously predicting a tricky end for the Batman, 'The Amazing Spider-Man' is all about beginnings.
Could there be a clearer attempt to claim the superhero throne Nolan's Batman has occupied since 2005? We think not.
