First pic of Gal Gadot in full costume from Wonder Woman 1984
As filming gears up for Wonder Woman 1984, here’s out first look at Gal Gadot in her fully costumed glory for the anticipated sequel.
Gadot took to Twitter over the weekend to drop the snap, captioning ‘she’s back…’.
It follows the first shots from production which arrived last week, and featured a glimpse of the Amazonian hero out in her civvies, standing in front of a host of 80s imagery on a bank of TVs.
There was also a surprising pic of Chris Pine’s Steve Trevor, thought dead from the first movie, but seemingly alive and kicking.
No details are being floated just yet about plot, but we know that the action will be set in the 80s – around the climax of the Cold War – and that Kristin Wiig is joining the fray as the movie’s villain, the Cheetah.
Game of Thrones star Pedro Pascal is also involved, in what’s described as a ‘key role’.
Patty Jenkins is on board once more to direct, and she’ll have it all to do, in terms of high expectations.
The first movie remains the only chapter in the DC Extended Universe that has over-performed, both critically and at the box office.
It made a solid $821 million, just shy of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice‘s haul, no mean feat for first instalment, and considerably more than the Justice League movie made (it topped out at $658 million).
Wonder Woman 2 is due for release on November 1, 2019.
